a revert, at that. I couldn't help but crying. Its their humility that does it , I think. I couldn't speak to hear in fear of welling up. I juct couldn't control myself. Oh Allah, guide the reverts to the straight path for they (by your Will) have taken the first few steps towards you.
Ameen.
Salam.

And this passed Friday, alhamdulilah I got the opportunity at the Jummah prayer to witness another being reverting back to their religion of Islam. I went up to the brother and introduced myself and I noticed this glow in his eyes that couldnt conceal his new found love. May Allah have mercy on his soul.
I'm scared to say it but I believe with so many new Muslims accepting Islam, I think Allah is replacing those of us who have taken His religion for granted because we were granted the opportunity to be raised in households that hung Quranic ayaats from their walls and who so how, over a period of time, developed this belief that Islam was our right and not a favour granted to us. But I hope Allah, the Most Forbearing, will forgive us and keep our hearts firm in His deen.
First and foremost, Eid Mubarak , akhi. I echo your pleas and asks of Allah for all our Ummah.
I know what you mean, when Islam talks of how it will be possible to replace us with those better than us. Its so sad to notice the stark contrast between the overly-excited new Muslims and the ones who were born with it but have succumbed to darkening their hearts.
The thing is , words will never be able to describe to people what a gift Islaam is , even from Muslim to a Muslim. It won't do it justice so the only thing left for it is to live it, I suppose . And to let others be touched by our living of it.
Assalamu alaykum.
P.S I wonder if Muslims were placed with reverts, if we'd take heed.
I think many Muslims that are exposed to reverts always feel like they (ie, the reverts) are better than them and most times, rightfully so. But the problem comes not from the realization that the revert is taking Islam more seriously than Ahmed, who was born into a Muslim family, but the fact that, rather than using that revert as motivation to become a better Muslim, society has accepted the notion that once someone enters Islam, it is expected of that person to be better and hence, the competition towards becoming the best worshipper basically exits the door. <- Not always the case, but generally speaking.
But I still would love to live in a society that has Muslims living side by side with their revert brothers and sisters because they would serve as a reminder during good times and bad times.
And Allah knows best.
PS. I responded to your comment about writers block and I asked you a question, so get back to me with an answer inshAllah.
